LEICESTER are pleased to welcome Kai Ward back into their National Development League side.
Ward, who rode for the Lion Cubs in 2021, missed out on a team place this year but comes in as an injury replacement for the unlucky Max Perry, who broke a collarbone at Kent on Sunday and is out for up to six weeks.
19-year-old Ward showed good improvement in the closing weeks of last season and fits the bill perfectly in a situation where the Cubs would otherwise have to select guests from the list of unattached riders.
He will make his first appearance of 2022 in Friday’s re-arranged trip to Belle Vue, and will then line up at home against Mildenhall at the Paul Chapman & Sons Arena on Saturday (7pm).
